In 2014, Brand Finance, British brand evaluation, and the strategic consulting firm named Ferrari the most influential brand in the world. In May 2012, a large US telecommunications Henk Craig McCaw (English: Craig McCaw ) for $ 38.1 million private purchase of a Ferrari 250 GTO (1962 years), becoming the most expensive car in history

History

1929-1947

When the Ferrari team was created in 1929, Enzo Ferrari had no intention of making a sports car. He was only a patron of amateur drivers. Ferrari successfully participated in the race by modifying the sports car of the Alcoa Romeo. By 1938, he was hired by Alcoa as the head of the racing department.

In 1940, Enzo learned that Ai Kuai planned to acquire his beloved Ferrari team and seized control, and left Ai Kuai. However, due to contract restrictions, he was temporarily unable to participate in the car, and the Ferrari team became Auto Avio Costruzioni Ferrari, manufacturing machine tools and aircraft accessories. The only car produced was Tipo 815, which became the first real Ferrari car. But due to the Second World War, the competition was not too fierce. In 1943, the Ferrari factory was moved to Maranello. After being bombed in 1944, the streetcar production facility was rebuilt and added in 1947 as a source of funding for the fleet.

1945-present

The first Ferrari street car designed for general road driving was the 125S in 1947, propelled by a 1.5-liter V12 engine. Enzo was forced to make and sell this sports car to earn money for his racing team Ferrari. Ferrari sports cars soon gained an excellent reputation.

Ferrari sports cars are known for their beautiful and smooth lines. Many designs are designed by famous design studios such as Pininfarina. Other participating studios include Scaglietti, Bertone, Touring, Ghia, and Vignale.

In 1968, in 1956 to commemorate the untimely death of beloved son Dino Ferrari( Italian: Dino Ferrari ), it ordered sad Enzo's V12 equipped with engines less than the number of cylinders of products will use the name, Dino. The product code of Dino was used from 1968 to 1976. During this period, Dino 206 GT, Dino 246 GT and GTS, and Dino 308 GT4 used this name.

In 1969, the Fiat Group purchased a 50% stake in Ferrari, which was further increased to 90% in 1988.

In 2008, Fiat Group-owned a 75% stake in Ferrari, Mubadala Development Company held a 15% stake, and Enzo's son Piero Ferrari held a 10% stake.

In October 2014, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced that it will split the Ferrari by the FCA. Spin-off started in October the following year, replaced by a company incorporated in the Netherlands incorporated the parent company of Ferrari NV as Ferrari Group's holding company, the remaining 10% stake in taking IPO and common shares parallel forms listed in New York Stock Exchange-listed. The remaining Ferrari equity of FCA is distributed to the shareholders of FCA, and 10% continues to be held by Piero Ferrari ( Italian: Piero Ferrari ), Enzo Ferrari's second son.

In January 2016, it completely separated from the FCA Group.
